This is one of my favorite effects from the wood kiln. This piece was deeply carved with no colorant on the surface (just white on white) resulting in a subtle pattern that is secondary to the natural effects of the wood kiln. In this case it's a dappled pink and neutral surface.
This piece was wood fired in April 2026 at Lancaster Creative Factory.
